Double-checking a health check report
Recompute the BMI from height and weight and confirm whether the report used the Chinese standard or the WHO standard.
Guide
BMI Calculator computes the body mass index as weight(kg) ÷ height(m)² and classifies it against the Chinese standard and the WHO standard at the same time. The Chinese thresholds are 18.5, 24 and 28; the WHO thresholds are 18.5, 25 and 30 — so a BMI between 24 and 24.9, or between 28 and 29.9, lands in a different band under each standard. The page also derives the normal weight range for the current height from the Chinese standard.

| Input | Output | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 170 cm / 65 kg | BMI ≈ 22.5, normal | Normal under both standards |
| 175 cm / 76 kg | BMI ≈ 24.8 | Overweight under the Chinese standard, still normal under WHO |
Recompute the BMI from height and weight and confirm whether the report used the Chinese standard or the WHO standard.
To return to the normal band under the Chinese standard, read the upper and lower weight limits for your height directly.
Because their cut-offs for overweight and obesity differ. The page shows both so that a conclusion taken from one standard is not mistakenly applied to the other.
Not necessarily. BMI uses only height and weight and cannot separate muscle from fat, so other measures should be taken into account.
Height and weight are computed in the browser only; nothing is saved or uploaded.

BMI from height and weight against both WHO and Chinese standards, with a healthy weight range
BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)²
By the Chinese standard, your healthy weight range is 53.5 ~ 69.1 kg
| Category | Chinese standard | WHO standard |
|---|---|---|
| 偏瘦 | < 18.5 | < 18.5 |
| 正常 | 18.5 ~ 23.9 ← | 18.5 ~ 24.9 ← |
| 超重 | 24 ~ 27.9 | 25 ~ 29.9 |
| 肥胖 | ≥ 28 | ≥ 30 |
BMI is a rough weight estimate. It does not apply to pregnant women, athletes, older adults or minors — consult a doctor about your actual health.
