The identity-number recognizer does not ask for a region first. It returns candidate systems from the input structure. The global page focuses on Hong Kong identity cards, Macao resident identity cards, Taiwan national IDs plus new and original-format UI numbers, and Singapore NRIC/FIN. The same detector layer can also support deeper locale-specific pages where they are useful.

When official material documents only a format but this implementation does not have sufficiently authoritative checksum documentation, the result is explicitly marked as format-only. Third-party formulas are not presented as official validation.

Recognition coverage and SEO publication are separate concerns. A global detector can recognize a supported number that a user deliberately enters, while a deep tutorial or field-level parser for one jurisdiction can be published only in languages where that page is useful.

This choice is based on the current page language and the input string. Toolun does not read IP address or geolocation and does not equate speaking a language with being physically located in one country.

• Macao currently receives official format recognition only; no insufficiently documented checksum formula is implemented.
• Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore are likewise primarily official-format recognizers in this release.
• A format match does not prove issuance, current validity or ownership.
• High-collision, highly sensitive identifiers such as U.S. SSNs are not added merely to inflate coverage.

• Route form input to a likely identity-number parser.
• Split multi-region identifiers during data cleaning.
• Move from the universal recognizer to a more suitable specialized tool.
• Add new systems incrementally when reliable official documentation is available.

Identity-number recognition runs locally in the browser and does not connect to population, immigration, police or identity-verification databases. Identity-document numbers are highly sensitive; process only your own, test or explicitly authorized data.
