Guide
The spelling alphabet converts text character by character using a built-in static mapping. Letters A–Z use the common NATO spellings such as Alpha, Bravo and Charlie; the Chinese digit reading maps digits onto the spoken forms used to avoid confusion on the phone, and the radio English mode uses the anti-confusion readings Zero, One, Tree, Fower, Fife and Niner.

A7 in the Chinese reading mode gives the NATO word for A followed by the Chinese reading for seven; spaces, newlines and tabs are skipped, and characters with no mapping, such as CJK text, are left as they are.

Digits follow the military / civil aviation reading (1 yao, 2 liang, 7 guai, 9 gou, 0 dong), letters use NATO words and Chinese characters stay as they are

Phone numbers: 138 1234 5678 is read 幺三八 · 幺两三四 · 五六拐八, and 幺 / 拐 / 勾 / 洞 stop 1 and 7, 9 and 6, 0 and 6 from being confused on a call.
Licence plates / order numbers: 京A·D12345 is read 京 Alpha Delta 幺两三四五, and letters use NATO words (B as Bravo, D as Delta), so "B or D?" is gone for good.
The official ICAO spelling is Alfa / Juliett; in everyday use Alpha / Juliet are more common
